Hex Bolts - Tap Bolts vs Hex Cap Screws - Vivid Fasteners and Tooling

Image
Hex Bolts Though hex bolts go by many names the characteristic that they all share is a hexagonal head, designed to be driven by a wrench. They all are commonly referred to as both bolts and screws. They are unique because of the threading. These bolts are partially threaded with a shoulder beneath the head. Tap Bolts are fully threaded up to the hexagonal head. The unique characteristic of a hex bolt is the design of the head, from which they get their name. The "flange" of the bolt is a built in (integral) washer. In Imperial sizes, this washer is serrated to act as a lock washer. Tap Bolts vs Hex Cap Screws Hex Bolts, are bolts with an external hex head. Hex Cap Screws and Tap Bolts are both types of Hex Bolts, however the difference is in the threading. Tap Bolts are fully threaded regardless of the length of the bolt, which means that the thread extends from the tip of the bolt all the way to the bottom of the head. Forged Lifting and Rigging Hardware     Eye Bolts An eye bolt is a threaded rod with a ring for a head. In a shoulder pattern Eye Bolt, the ring is used to hold a fitting or a load, commonly seen in industrial applications. Plain eye bolts feature a ring directly above the threaded rod portion of the fastener, whereas shoulder pattern variety features a shoulder between the ring and the threaded rod. Eye bolts are used to secure an eye to a structure so that a rope, cable or other fixture may be attached to it. Often used to lift heavy equipment. Eye Nuts An eye nut is a fastener with a ring for a head, designed to receive a hook or a rope, cable, or chain. Often used to lift heavy equipment vertically, but are not recommended for angular lifting. They are typically used as attachments to equipment for transportation purposes that could not be moved by hand. Eye Nuts come in Style A, Style B, and Style D variants. Dowel Pins - Stainless Steel Dowel Rods

Image
Dowel Pins Stainless Steel Dowel Rods Dowel pins are manufactured on pneumatic dowel equipment and come in pre-cut lengths and diameters. These pins are used in many applications like reinforced joints, support shelves and various hobbyist applications. Stainless steel Dowel Pins are corrosion resistant in varying grades. For environments requiring an extremely resistant product (such as salt water), we recommend 316 stainless steel. 18-8 and 304 stainless steel grades are considered the industry standard and have corrosion resistant qualities. linkedin.com/in/ashok-s-5aa8a4176 https://vividfastenersandtooling.blogspot.com/ #tungstencarbide #coldheadingdies #coldheading #coldforging #carbidepallet #pallet #pallets #fasteners #toolroom #toolanddie #tools #toolroom #toolanddie #carbidetools #tooling #fasteners #fastexport #fastenersandtooling #marketing #marketingmanagement #marketingoperations #professional #screw #screw #bolts #customerrequirements #specialparts

Shop All Cotter Pins

Image
Shop All Cotter Pins Cotter pins, also called split pins or cotter keys, are bent pins with a rounded head that are slid into a hole. Once inserted into the hole, the two ends are bent into different directions deforming the pin, so it cannot be easily removed from the hole. While cotter pins come in many shapes and sizes, the most common is the split pin variety. Cotter pins are used with castle nuts to lock the nut onto a bolt and prevent it from spinning loose accidentally. They are usually made of a soft metal, so they can be bent by hand or with pliers to make them difficult to remove. It is common to see a cotter pin reused after being removed if it does not break during removal. This is not a good practice however; the pin should be replaced with a new pin as metal fatigue will prevent the pin from performing to standards once bent again. *Due to the softness of materials, we do not advise using cotter pins where strong sheer force is a concern. In some rare cases

Shop All Zip Ties

Anchors and Concrete Screws Self Tapping, Expansion Anchors and More for Use with Masonry Materials Masonry Anchors are used to attach fixtures to hollow walls, concrete or other masonry materials. There are many different kinds of anchors, each with different functions or methods used to anchor themselves to materials, most involve some form of expansion anchoring or threading the material being fastened into. Most notable are Masonry Anchors consisting of Wedge, Sleeve, and Concrete Screws. Concrete Screws Concrete screws, also known as masonry screws or anchor screws, are screws used to secure materials to concrete, brick or block. Made for light duty fastening, concrete screws are quickly becoming a popular way to anchor materials to masonry. These screws are hardened and coated in a blue coating to protect them, which is part of the protective coating which extends the corrosion and rust resistance of the screw, making them suitable for exterior and long-lastin

Carriage Bolts, Plow Bolts & Timber Bolts

Image
Carriage Bolts, Plow Bolts & Timber Bolts The common features of bolts in this selection are that they are drive-less featuring either a domed or flat head, and that they feature a square section underneath the head of the bolt which grips the application surface to prevent the bolt from turning. This type of bolt is commonly used with a nut and washer in timber and lumber applications, as well as on heavy machinery. Carriage Bolt A carriage bolt has a domed or countersunk head and the shank is topped by a short square section under the head of the bolt. The square section grips into the part being fixed, preventing the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened. Carriage bolts are often used to fasten wood panels or board to masonry or to one another. The square shank of the bolt allows it to lock into place when inserted into a round hole in wood or a square hole in a metal strap, the unthreaded square shank pulls into the wood creating a tight connection.
